I miss my sister. It was so great to have her out here for so long, but we don't see her nearly enough.

 Here is Peanut. He is
1.Really, really, really into books.
2. Getting picky about foods.
3. Talking up a storm (even though I don't know exactly everything he is saying it sounds really important.)
4. Loves dancing around the house to music. He does a little pivot and circles around in a hop - it's hilarious. Doesn't matter if it is Kings of Leon or Lady Gaga.
5. Is starting to get used to the snow. We went for a walk on the bike path yesterday and he didn't whine at all! Now on to sledding...what kid doesn't like sledding?

she wins!

Olivia Wilde's dress was stunning. Fun and sparkly enough for awards season, but the dark color grounds it just enough. She didn't actually win an award, just in my book.

Once again, it is brrr-cold-freezing here and I am starting to wish for springtime weather. Not much of a skier's attitude, but I'm not doing much skiing! I can't wait to get back outside! These green interiors are a fresh feast for the eyes on a cold sunny day.

Why didn't I think of that?

Isn't this pillow amazing? It's from Love, California on Etsy. For $52 it can be yours. I'm thinking I might attempt to do a knockoff. Etsy has so many creative minds it is hard not to find something I would want to copy. I know, it's horrible, but I can't help it!
 Here's Washington, for my sister.

Resolute

Isn't this the sweetest?
Time to wake up from the holiday coma and get a jump on 2011! And the resolutions that invariably go along with a new year. My first resolution is nothing new - to keep in better touch with people. This is so hard for me so even a small improvement will be a big step for me. The second resolution is to finish taking the ARE - 3 more tests (and the hardest) to go. This one will be difficult - not to keep - but studying is impossible with a toddler! The next two resolutions should be easy. In fact, they're not resolutions, more like indulgences. I want to add to my book collection and do a lot of reading (after I am done reading all my ARE study materials, of course). And then I want to try a macaroon. I must be the only girl in the world who hasn't had one. What is the fuss all about? And why are they candy-colored? Doesn't seem natural, like chocolate, but I'll give them a try. Not like I need another sweet to be hankering after but I just feel left out!

Is it already over?

Is Christmas and New Year's really, truly already over? Did my sister already come for her long-awaited visit and leave so soon? The telltale signs that life has indeed moved on to January are the normal-sized lines at the grocery store and the abundance of shiny new plastic toys in our living room. It was wonderful to see Aunt Nanny and for her to spend time with Wyatt. It was frigid frigid frigid here in Sun Valley, so there are some things we didn't do because of the temps. we did manage to go skiing on New Years Day and it was fabulous. I'm hardly skiing at all this year, but each day I do ski will be special, I know.

Here is the painting that I worked on for oh-so-long. I'm working on a smaller one for my sister, but I'll show you when it is done!
